EcoView Monitor “EcoView” embodies EIZO’s concept of combining ergonomic and environmental features for an economical result. An EcoView monitor delivers increased comfort, reduced environmental burden, and ultimately lower running costs. It is ideal for corporate and government facilities as well as small offices and home offices that are concerned with the environment but require a high-quality monitor.

Mercury-Free LED Backlight

Unlike conventional CCFL backlights, LED backlights contain no mercury and they require considerably less power. During normal operation the EV2313W consumes just 16 watts, In power save mode it uses less than 0.9 watts, and when turned off via the main power switch it consumes no electricity at all.

Presence Sensor for Power Savings

EIZO’s new EcoView Sense feature unites convenience with savings by ensuring that the FlexScan EV2313WH automatically conserves power when it is not in use. EcoView Sense is an integrated presence sensor that prompts the monitor to switch to power save mode when it does not detect the user for 40 seconds, and then resume normal operation when the user returns. To accurately enter and stay in power save mode while the user is away from the monitor, EcoView Sense also differentiates between a still object like an empty chair and the movement caused by general office activity.

First TCO Displays 5.0 Certified Monitor

The FlexScan EV2313WH is one of the world’s first monitors to be TCO Displays 5.0 certified. This certification addresses ergonomics, emissions, and ecology with new criteria for product energy efficiency consistent with Energy Star 5.0 requirements, as well as enhanced monitor and packaging recyclability. The manufacturer’s ongoing organizational commitment to promote and report labor relations, working conditions, and manufacturing practices are required for this new certification. This monitor also received the Green Electronics Council and US EPA consumer electronics environmental assessment program's highest rating: EPEAT Gold.

Product Life Cycle Ecology

This monitor debuts an innovative compact design that reduces the number of internal components. The FlexScan EV2313WH is 48% thinner and 41% lighter than the body of a previous 24" widescreen model. This allows the monitor to be shipped in a smaller container which uses up to 100% recycled material. These considerations made during product development, in tandem with the monitor’s EcoView features, reduce environmental burden at each stage of the product’s life cycle.

Optimized Brightness with Auto EcoView

An Auto EcoView sensor on the front of the FlexScan EV2313WH measures ambient light and optimizes the screen's brightness to levels akin to viewing a sheet of paper under typical office lighting conditions. Since the screen is never too bright, eye strain is reduced while power consumption is cut by up to 40% compared to operating the monitor with Auto EcoView turned off and set to the default factory brightness of 100%.

Zero Watts When Turned Off

When the power save mode and off timer are set, this monitor consumes less than 0.7 watts. When turned off via the main power switch, it consumes no electricity at all.

Confirm Power Savings with EcoView Index

A user activated on-screen index shows the level of power savings in correlation with the monitor’s brightness to encourage environmental consciousness while working. When EcoView Index is fully illuminated, the monitor is operating at optimum energy efficiency.

EyeCare Manager

EIZO’s EyeCare Manager prompts workers to take scheduled breaks to avoid eye fatigue caused by prolonged monitor use. EyeCare also totals and displays on screen the monitor’s usage hours for each day and month to promote worker appreciation of improved work habits.

DVI Input Level Adjustment

The monitor compensates for image quality degradation that may occur when connecting to a signal switch box or to a PC via a long cable.

Improved Work Efficiency, Reduced Visual Fatigue

EIZO conducted a survey in 2008 to establish the relationship between eye fatigue and monitor use. The results showed that features like Auto EcoView, ergonomic stands, and the EyeCare utility helped reduce eye fatigue and improved work efficiency by 12.5%.

16:9 Aspect Ratio

The FlexScan EV2313WH is one of the first FlexScan models to feature a 16:9 aspect ratio. The 16:9 wide format is the same aspect ratio used by HDTV and it lets you enjoy mul­timedia content without horizontal letterboxing.

Fine Contrast Mode Selection

For optimum viewing of different kinds of content, EIZO’s Fine Contrast function includes modes for office applications (Text mode), video (Movie mode), graphics (Picture mode), web browsing (sRGB mode), and user-defined settings (Custom mode). Modes switch automatically with the bundled ScreenManager Pro for LCD software, or manually with the press of a button.

Individual Adjustment of Gamma

For better image consistency in multi-monitor environments, EIZO performs advanced gamma adjustment at the factory, which minimizes discrepancies among monitor gamma characteristics.

Audio

The FlexScan EV2313WH comes with a built-in 0.35 watt speaker on the front bezel and a headphone jack on the side of the monitor.
